Lost -- Another one's gonna bite the dust!

So I am thoroughly addicted to the ABC show LOST. I've never missed an episode and love the mystery behind the island. With all the twists that are thrown at you, it's impossible to know what's going to happen next.

So anyway, there is another cast member leaving the show in three weeks. I read a rumor that Shannon is going to be the one to go next, and personally that kind of makes sense given the fact that she's barely been featured this season. But I've also read interviews with the actress who plays Shannon that she's not the one. So who do you believe? Anyone else have guesses about who is next to go?

If it is Shannon, I have a theory that she and her brother Boone simply weren't meant to be on the plane/island.

Many of the survivors got on the plane through twists of fate -- a dead father, rushing through the airport, US Marshals -- Boone and Shannon got on the plane -- and were denied first class...

Maybe they weren't supposed to have survived...

Very true - it could be a minor cast member, but I don't see the producers building it up unless it is someone important.

I don't trust any of these shows anymore. After Kate on NCIS bit it, I realized that they can and will take the life of one of the key players and shock the viewers.

SPOILER--

So I picked up a copy of the recent TV Guide (they've changed their format) and there is an interview with the show's producer.

This next part is a spoiler, so don't read on if you don't want a spoiler...

It is supposedly a female main character who is leaving the show. That's all they'll say, but it is a woman and that falls in with my belief that it is Shannon.

Now the part I didn't know, and I really need to buy season 1 so that I can study everything. But in this season's first epidsode, Jack loses a male patient who shares the same last name as Shannon. The rumor is that that character's/patient's identity will be revealed during fall sweeps.

It brings me right back to the conclusion that somehow all these plane passengers are tied together somehow and that they were brought to the island with a purpose in mind.

According to the interview in the TV Guide (last week's with Ty Pennington on the cover). In Season 2's opener, during the Jack Flashback where he meets his wife - one of the male patients dies. Now I'm trying to vividly remember that segment. I remember the car accident, Jack's future wife is brought in and is paralyzed so she is his main focus... but in the very beginning of that sequence, doesn't the driver of the other car die? I vaguely remember Jack working on a male for a few seconds trying to revive him, but he can't so his focus moves to the woman.

I do have every intention on buying Season 1 and then Season 2 when it comes out, because I think I'm missing the subtle hints to the main action.

Re: Tracy's comments... Jack saved his future wife while letting Shannon's father die. That man that died on that other table was Shannon's father. The last name was the same, she mentioned in Season 1 her father died and didn't leave her the money she wanted, etc. That's their connection.

But my bet is the one to die will be the new "tailie" women. She's involved enough in the story to capture our early interest, but not enough for us to lose interest in the show.
